Our partners joined a networking panel discussion in the capital Nairobi in 2023 where industry leaders from across Kenya shared their vision for growth.  Backed by the government tourism partner ‘Magical Kenya’ the event focused on growth with a focus on sustainability and conservation.  Our work continued in 2024, invited to give an opening day keynote speech, and panel expertise, during the Sustainable Tourism Africa Summit.  The Kenya Vision 2030 is a strategic plan, aligned to the government development agenda to promote a favourable investment environment, to strengthen inclusive and equitable economic growth in the manufacturing, financial services, environment, climate and tourism sectors.

Zambia is known for a unique blend of wildlife, landscapes, and the iconic Victoria Falls.  In 2023, our partner enjoyed informal exchanges with Zambia’s Government Tourism Minister Mr Rodney Sikumba during Africa’s largest tourism event in 2023 and retains strong connections across the private and public sector.  Prior to the meeting, the Ministry published a 60 page investment guide, featuring ten investment ready projects and a step-by-step guide to investor and tax registration. Tourism works alongside the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) the government body that promotes economic development and investment in Zambia.

Our relationship with the Malawi Government Department for Tourism began in 2016, supporting buyer and media familiarisation through the country.  We enjoyed the beauty of the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’, from the marvellous Satemwa tea estates in Thyolo, to the adventure of the Mvuu Camp on the banks of the Shire River within the Liwonde National Park, to the breathtaking Mumbo Island, on Lake Malawi.

The Department for Tourism works alongside the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC), the government agency mandated to facilitate Investment and Trade, and promote opportunities for investment in the agriculture, energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure development/ICT, Tourism and finance sectors.

Tax incentives in Malawi are enshrined in the main tax legislation that include the customs and Excise Act, the Taxation Act, the VAT Act and the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Act, to encourage investment.  Malawi operates a One-Stop Service Centre through MITC, where investors get to enjoy streamlined investment processing.

To sustain economic growth, the Tanzania Government under the leadership of Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania is implementing an industrial driven economy, which emphasises the attraction of investments in key priority sectors. President Hassan attended the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC) 23rd Global Summit in Kigali, in November 2023. Our partners attended the annual event, regarded as the most influential on the calendar, where industry leaders gather with key government representatives to continue to align efforts to a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. 

南非 South Africa

Our partners have extensive relationships and connections across South Africa, developed over a considerable time. In 2023 our partner facilitated an engagement with South Africa’s Tourism Minister Ms Patricia de Lille at World Travel Market, London. The event held annually for over forty years, is where ministers meet, and global travel teams build their networks.

The tourism ministry works alongside Brand South Africa the public entity that promotes the countries brand reputation and InvestSA. 津巴布韦 Zimbabwe

Our partners enjoy a wealth of experience and connections across Zimbabwe, dating back over ten years. Through a number of facilitated trips, we have developed experience of the ‘World of Wonders’ from geographic vantage points from Victoria Falls, Hwange, Matopos and Bulawayo the country’s second largest city.

In 2022, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) appointed Winnie Muchanyuka as Chief Executive Officer (pictured alongside our partner in 2023).  ZTA was formed by an Act of Parliament in 1996 with a mandate of developing, managing, promoting and marketing Zimbabwe as a tourist destination with a goal is to promote sustainable growth and development for the social and economic benefit of the nation.  ZTA works alongside the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), the Government’s Investment Promotion Agency.  ZIDA facilitate entry, implement investor strategies and plans, review and recommend Public Private Partnerships and provide support and monitoring to investors.

There are three ways to invest in Zimbabwe.  Firstly, a general Investment License, this is where you wish to start a private business in Zimbabwe and you can own 100% of your business to get your investment off the ground.  Secondly a Public Private Partnership, this is where you wish to partner with the Government, a local authority, or a state-owned enterprise to run a business.  And finally, where ZIDA designates and regulates Special Economic Zones (SEZs), where you can apply to develop, operate, or run a business in an SEZ. We enjoy connections with officials in Zimbabwe and China, to facilitate your support.

卢旺达 Rwanda

The Rwanda Development Board oversees investment and tourism, and our experience of working and travelling through the country was developed from 2023.

Rwanda has the 2^nd fastest growing economy in Africa (7.5% p/a since 2007) with a young and growing population, 70% aged under 30.  Strongly regarded for its ease of doing business, Rwanda is investor-friendly with a commitment that includes no restrictions on foreign ownership, and capital gains exemption on sale or transfer of shares.

埃塞俄比亚 Ethiopia

Ethiopia, the land or origins, is an ancient country whose unique cultural heritage, rich history, and biodiversity are reflected in a tally of nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, more than any other country in Africa.  Steeped in history and ethnic diversity, Ethiopia is a federal democracy whose wealth of cultural and natural attractions, combine with a unique musical heritage, arts, and ancient coffee culture.

2023年10月，Capital Horizon的合作伙伴与旅游部长纳西斯·查利斯·吉拉阁下（Hon. In October 2023 our partner engaged in discussions with the Minister of Tourism, Hon, Nasise Challis Jira, alongside the President of the Ethiopian Tour Operators Association, Mr Fitsum Lakew.  This followed an inaugural Ethiopian strategic tourism development event in the capital Addis Ababa.  The capital is the seat of many international organisations, notably the African Union (AU) and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).  The Ethiopian economy is the fifth largest in Africa and with a labour force of 56 million, making it the second largest pool of workers on the continent.   Regarded as a connected market, in addition to being Africa´s second largest consumer market, Ethiopia is also a gateway to key regional markets, supported by the Ethiopian Investment Commission, providing support through the investment life cycle, with five priority sectors in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Mining, ICT and Tourism. Engagements with Ethiopia officials extended to the Embassy in New Delhi in 2024, where around 600 Indian companies have invested in various sectors.

博茨瓦纳 Botswana

博茨瓦纳位于非洲的南部，与南非、赞比亚、纳米比亚和津巴布韦接壤，自 1966 年独立以来一直保持着和平；博茨瓦纳为投资者提供了和平稳定的环境，并且实行自由税收制度，企业税为 22%。

Breathtakingly beautiful Botswana provides a peaceful and stable environment for investors and has maintained peace since Independence in 1966.  Located in Southern Africa, bordered by South Africa, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe it enjoys a liberal tax regime with 22% corporate tax.

We enjoy a developed relationship with the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB).  Formed in 1982 the association promotes the tourism industry which is the second-largest contributor to the country’s economy.  Working alongside HATAB, is the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), located in the capital Gabarone.    Our interfaces in Gabarone in 2023 included speaking at the African Tourism Leaders Forum.

纳米比亚 Namibia

纳米比亚是非洲大陆最美丽的国家之一，地大物博，广袤的大地上有着无限的激情，为旅行者提供充满多样性的冒险活动。

Namibia is a country of endless horizons, infinite opportunities and diversity, and remains one of the most beautiful countries on the continent, offering travellers activities and adventures to enjoy in a land of contrasts.

Our experience working in Namibia dates to 2018.   On the central coast, Swakopmund, a resort town, and Walvis Bay, Namibia’s main seaport, are where the sea meets the desert. The towns are considered Namibia’s “adventures hub” with activities ranging from quad biking, boat cruises, and Namib desert tours.  In this area, Namibia is establishing itself as a logistics hub through the port in Walvis Bay, which enables trade connectivity for road, rail, and seaport logistics among neighbouring countries, and the rest of the world.

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has a dual mandate, which includes the development, promotion and facilitation of investment by foreign investors, as well as the coordination of economic activities.  The NIPDB offer potential investors an array of services to facilitate doing business, prioritising business facilitation to attract investors and capitalise on investment prospects.

The Kingdom of Eswatini is a landlocked country, and the second smallest in continental Africa.  As one of the few remaining monarchies in Africa, culture and heritage are deeply engrained in all aspects of life. The friendliness of the people of Eswatini makes visitors feel safe and welcome. Add to that, stunning scenery of mountains and valleys, forests and plains and wildlife reserves, home to The Big Five.

Hosted by ETA in 2017, we gained experience of all four regions of Eswantini (Lubombo, Manzini, Hhohho, Shiselweni) from the wild ridges overlooking the country of Mozambique, to the capital, Mbabane.  ETA was established by an act of parliament as a public enterprise with numerous objectives including the facilitation of foreign investment and to ensure the contribution of tourism to socio-economic development.  ETA work alongside the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) whose aim is to make the country a leading Trade and Investment destination in Africa, with a mission to attract, promote, encourage and facilitate direct investment and trade.  EIPA point to the reduced corporate tax of 10% for 10 years to foreign investments in manufacturing, mining, international services and tourism, as one of the key incentives.
